The Benchmark Solutions are solutions to Rawseeds’ Benchmark Problems; they are one of the elements of the Rawseeds Benchmarking Toolkit. Deliverable D5.2 is the final description of the set of BSs developed by Rawseeds’ partners, to be found online here.

Deliverable D5.1: Preliminary Benchmark Solutions

The Benchmark Solutions are solutions to Rawseeds’ Benchmark Problems; they are one of the elements of the Rawseeds Benchmarking Toolkit. Deliverable D5.1 is a preliminary description of the set of BSs that will be generated by the project itself, and are currently under development (actually, you can contribute your own BSs as well!). This Deliverable is focused on the description of the algorithms used by Rawseeds’ own Benchmark Solutions.

Deliverable D4.1: Benchmark Problems

The Benchmark Problems are the key elements of the Rawseeds Benchmarking Toolkit. Deliverable D4.1 is an in-depth description of Rawseeds’ BPs, including the associated metrics for the evaluation of the output of the Benchmark Solutions.

Deliverable D3.2: Final Data Certification

Rawseeds is committed to producing datasets of the highest quality. Therefore, the project defined a WorkPackage (WP3) specifically dedicated to data validation. When the results of such activity were unsatisfactory, we proceeded to perform corrective actions… or even to repeat the data collection.
Deliverable D3.2 is the final document of WP3, stating that the required quality has been attained by Rawseeds’ datasets. You can download it by

Deliverable D2.1: Raw Data (indoor)

This is the second Deliverable including sensor data (yes, the second: Deliverable D2.2 actually was due – and delivered – before D2.1). It is composed of two elements:

datasets gathered during robot explorations of indoor environments (including the associated calibration data and ground truth);
an accompanying document describing the experimental setup and the characteristics of the datasets.

The datasets are published as part of RAWSEEDS’ Benchmarking Toolkit, and specifically as key elements of the Benchmark Problems. The accompanying document is subdivided into two separate documents:

Part 1, describing the datasets, including how and where they were collected (this is the only part you should read if you are only interested in using the data;
Part 2, dedicated to the description of how we designed, set up, used and validated the systems for ground truth collection.

Deliverable D3.1: Preliminary Data Certification

The Rawseeds project includes an exacting validation phase to ensure the high quality of its Benchmarking Toolkit. This work is performed by testing and evaluating the datasets included into the Toolkit before they are accepted for such inclusion. This Deliverable shows the results of the validation work performed on some preliminary datasets, generated to test the experimental setup and the acquisition procedure.

Deliverable D2.2: Raw Data (outdoor)

This Deliverable is important for RAWSEEDS, as it is the first one including sensor data. It is composed of two elements:

datasets gathered during robot explorations of outdoor environments (including the associated calibration data and ground truth);
an accompanying document describing the experimental setup and the characteristics of the datasets.

The datasets, i.e. the raw data produced by the sensors on board the robot, are published as part of RAWSEEDS’ Benchmarking Toolkit, and specifically as key elements of the Benchmark Problems. The accompanying document, conversely, can be downloaded by clicking here.

You could have noticed that Deliverable D2.2 (Raw Data – outdoor) has actually been published before Deliverable D2.1 (Raw Data – indoor), notwithstanding their numbers. The reason for this lies in… the weather. In fact, acquisition of outdoor datasets is obviously best performed in the hot period of the year, to avoid rain and snow: therefore it was decided to switch the indoor and outdoor acquisition phases to get advantage of the summer season.

Additional Deliverable AD2.3: Validation of the Ground Truth collection systems

RAWSEEDS devoted much work to the gathering of solid Ground Truth (GT) information, to accompany the sensor datasets included into the Benchmark Problems. The results of any algorithm applied to the datasets can thus be objectively evaluated by comparing those results with the GT. The availability of a high quality GT is one of the distinctive traits of RAWSEEDS’ Benchmarking Toolkit, when compared with other data collections.
Ground Truth information is effective only if its precision and quality is sufficient. Deliverable AD2.3 of project RAWSEEDS is a technical description of the systems and methods used to gather the GT for RAWSEEDS, plus a quality evaluation and validation of the actual Ground Truth data. Both indoor and outdoor GT gathering systems (which are actually completely different) are covered. Click here to download AD2.3.

By the way: the name of this Deliverable is peculiar in that it begins with an extra “A”. This is because AD2.3 is an Additional Deliverable, initially not devised in RAWSEEDS’ work plan. It was added later to the project’s output, when the need emerged to clarify the GT gathering procedure and, if possible, to help other groups to overcome some of the difficulties associated to similar activities.
